The Corrections and Treatment Facilities Committee

The primary purpose of this committee is to assist in carrying the message of Alcoholics Anonymous to the alcoholic who is confined in either correctional or treatment facilities in Southern New Jersey. In conjunction with our three (3) Intergroup structures, this committee works with the various administrations of these institutions, in order to provide a message of hope to the still-suffering alcoholic. The committee members of this committee bring meetings and literature into these institutions.

Another very important aspect of this committee’s work is in the implementation and facilitation of the “Bridging the gap contact service.” It is the responsibility of the C.T.F. committee to provide and maintain a working P.O. Box and telephone service to assist the still suffering alcoholic in bridging the “gap” from facility to the Fellowship on the outside. A constant pool of volunteers, encompassing the entire Area is needed to communicate that help is available for the alcoholic in need.

This committee hosts an annual Inter-Area Conference, sharing the experience, strength and hope of others involved in service to the correctional and treatment facilities.
